This site has been specifically created for anyone involved in a university course that offers (or intends to offer) an eLearning site for students. This includes:

  • UoS lecturers
  • guest lecturers
  • tutors
  • course coordinators
  • instructional designers

Why single out the University LMS (CE6)?

The University LMS (CE6) has a unique role at the University of Sydney. eLearning sites at the university are involved in a thorough quality assurance process that has been approved by the Academic Board. The provision of high-quality eLearning sites is a central platform of the university's e-learning initiative, and is supported across the university by a centrally-coordinated helpdesk for staff and students.

The University LMS (CE6) is not the only form of e-learning offered at the University of Sydney. For example, the Faculty of Economics and Business offers sites delivered via a different Learning Management System (LMS), called Blackboard. Inquiries about Blackboard sites should be directed to .

What does this site offer?

In this site you will find information on how to establish, develop or participate in a University LMS (CE6) site at the University of Sydney.

The tab menu at the top of the page will help introduce you to the University Learning Management System. The Getting access tab takes you
through the basic computer requirements, and the process of extending your Unikey access to eLearning.

The third tab, Your eLearning Site, is specifically for those responsible for designing or maintaining a University LMS (CE6) site. It follows the life-cycle of a typical site. We describe the process of creating a site, developing content and structure, releasing it to students using the SEAMS interface, administering it during semester, and finally what's involved in archiving the site for future use. There is also a Helpful Tools section which will be useful for anyone contributing content to a University LMS (CE6) site.

The Training tab has the latest information on upcoming lunchtime sessions, workshops and other events of interest to the online teacher.
