The Koori Centre has individual staff members available to provide advice and guidance to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at the University. Our Cadigal Officer advises on the Special Entry Program, course choice and the application and admission process. The Cadigal Advisor is the person who mainstream students can contact for advice on academic matters. The Block-Mode Officer advises on courses available, course requirements, and the application and admission process. We have an ITAS Coordinator who assists with finding tutors for Indigenous Australian students and helps them work out a tutoring program. Our Librarian provides guidance to all students on how to utilise the Koori Centre Library resources. On the Camperdown campus there is a Counselling service available to all students in the Counselling Unit which is located in the Faculty of Education and Social Work building, next door to the Koori Centre. Counselling staff are there to discuss any matters that may be impacting on your studies and/or your life in general. In fact, any staff member at the Koori Centre, academic or administrative, is available for students at times of need. The facilities at the Koori Centre have been developed to support students through their studies. The Student Computer Lab has new HP computers as well as photocopying and printing facilities. The tutorial space, can be used for meeting with tutors, working on group assignments, or for student meetings. The Common Room with full kitchen facilities provides a place for students to get together and relax.
