Student Welcome

Welcome to the University of Sydney.

For more than 30 years Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education programs have been offered by the University of Sydney. During this time schools, units and centres have been established to provide education, support and training for Indigenous Australian students enrolled across all Faculties and Departments of the University.

A Special Entry Program, called the Cadigal Program, increases opportunities for Indigenous Australian people to undertake tertiary education at the University, and the Koori Centre, Yooroang Garang: Indigenous Health Studies, Indigenous Health Promotions and the Department of Rural Health at Broken Hill provide various forms of assistance to students during their studies, and create culturally appropriate environments in which students can study and socialise with their peers.

The next few years that you spend in tertiary education will be some of the best years of your life – we look forward to sharing this experience with you.
