How to enrol

General Enrolment Information

Enrolment is the formal process of registering with your Faculty and choosing your units of study/subjects. Enrolment is compulsory and late enrolments will only be allowed with faculty permission. Please contact the Faculty direct if you are unable to attend your scheduled enrolment date.

Enrolment Dates

Enrolment dates for Semester 1, 2009.

Enrolment dates usually fall within the two weeks prior to the start of semester. Semester dates for 2008 can be found here.

Assumed Knowledge Requirements

Some courses have specific assumed knowledge requirements. It is recommended that you consult the relevant Faculty website for any that may be applicable to your course. Faculty Contacts.

Students who have not completed the assumed knowledge subjects are advised to undertake an appropriate bridging program in the relevant subject area before commencing the course. The University offers fee-paying bridging programs in a number of subject areas. Contact details for the relevant programs are given below.

Upgrades and Transfers

If at some stage during your academic career you wish to apply to transfer or upgrade from your current course, please apply directly to the appropriate faculty. Upgrades and transfers are not automatic, nor are they are guaranteed.

Welcome Orientation and Transition Program

The Sydney Welcome Orientation and Transition Program (SWOT) is designed to help you get to know the University and its services. Faculties, the Library and central student support services work together in the SWOT Program to assist you in becoming familiar with the University.

Proxy enrolment

If you are unable to attend your scheduled enrolment in person, you must arrange for someone to attend for you. Complete the proxy form to give someone else authority to enrol on your behalf. The person acting as your proxy must be able to produce your proxy form at the time of enrolment. Make sure your proxy has complete and correct information regarding the course and units of study in which you wish to enrol.
