Exceptional Results
The University of Sydney Foundation Program (USFP) again saw some fantastic results, with 82% of its 2007 students achieving entry to the University of Sydney. The remaining 18% of students were offered places at other tertiary institutions. Yi Hsuan CHIU (Cecilia) from Taiwan was the most outstanding performer achieving a GPA of 9.9 and was offered a Bachelor of Medical Science/Bachelor Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
Taylors students were placed in a number of faculties, with the Faculty of Business and Economics attracting 40% of students. There was also strong interest in Arts, Science, Applied Health Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, Music/Visual Arts, Veterinary Science, Pharmacy, Law and Medical Science.
Former Taylors students awarded Scholarships
The University of Sydney International Merit Scholarship Scheme was introduced in 1998. All international students who are not already supported by a scholarship are eligible for consideration. The scholarship recipients are selected by their Faculty, according to meritorious academic performance in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The scholarships are awarded annually and provide payment of full or half tuition fee costs or a contribution towards those costs.
- Yi Hsuan CHIU (Cecilia) from Taiwan was awarded the prestigious Sue Harlen Merit Scholarship/USFP Board Scholarship.
- Cecilia demonstrated exceptional communication and leadership skills, in addition to academic excellence.
